I’ve been practicing martial arts for almost 30 years and Filipino martial arts for 25 years. In the 1980s, Mr Jean Pierre Defosse introduced Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Do and Kali Arnis Escrima in France. It is thanks to him wih one of his students that my training began. This discovery led me to rich and diverse martial arts such as Penchak Silat (Setia Hati Terate under the authority of certified instructor Mully Sukawijaja, Persaudaran Setia Hati Terate of Indonesia), internal martial arts and others. In the practice of this art, there is a beautiful state of open-mindedness, without conformity, but rather a quest for efficiency and pragmatism. I wish to thank all the grand masters in Europe as well as in the Philippines, who know via practice how to make me enjoy martial arts and therefore progress. In the 1990s, one encounter marked my progress in Filipino martial arts: Grand Master Oliver Bersabal in Koredas. The latter synthetized and taught the work of his grand master Andres Gumban himself, sparring partner of the famous Balintawak founder Anciong Bacon. This system allowed having another perception of Filipino martial arts. I fully live within this art since that encounter, I acquired a new state of mind, a new truth, less academic, more cultural and more traditional. My experiences with different masters from Filipino martial arts led me to Gm Danny Vedua in 2010, founder of Askal Hybrid Arnis. It was the occasion for me to go back to the Philippines, 13 years after my first trecking in Cebu. A journey which reinforced my knowledge and my experience in Kali Arnis Escrima. Another vision, another methodology, and a feeling which allowed the creation of an alliance with Askal Hybrid Arnis team. The headquarters of this alliance are situated in Cagayan de Oro, in the region of Mindanao. This wonderful encounter with GM Danny Vedua, with whom I’ve been working in close collaboration allows me to teach and promote as official representative and certified instructor of Askal Hybrid Arnis in France and in Europe.
Je pratique les arts martiaux depuis près de 30 ans et les arts martiaux Philippins depuis 25 ans. Mon cursus variés a débuté par le Jeet-Kune-do et le Wing Chun quand Jean Pierre Defosse (Un grand Master) a introduit les arts martiaux de Bruce Lee et le Kali-Arnis –Eskrima ici en France dans les années 80. Cette découverte m’a ensuite permis de découvrir ces arts martiaux riches et sa diversité comme le Pencak Silat en Setia Hati Terate sous l’autorité de l’Instructeur Rully Sukawijaja certifié et reconnu au Persaudaran (l’école) du Setia Hati Terate en Indonésie, les arts martiaux internes et autres. Une très belle ouverture d’esprit sans être dans la conformité mais plutôt dans le concept d’efficacité et de recherches pragmatiques. Un monde martial différent et mixte tant dans le travail des armes qu’à mains nues. Il faut savoir que les arts martiaux Philippins que j’ai pu découvrir à travers de grands Maîtres en France et Aux Philippines m’ont aidés à contempler cet art. Une rencontre de GM Bersabal dans les années dans les années 90 avec un système conçu d’une synthèse de différents styles que son Grand Maître Andres Gumban a développé dans sa vie. Ce système m’a permis de considérer les arts martiaux Philippins d’une autre manière que le côté académique avec une mentalité, une culture et une intégration de cet art de combat particulier qui vous amène à vivre pleinement cet art martial. Mon expérience avec certains Maîtres m’a permis de rencontrer des personnes dans le milieu des arts martiaux Philippins et ainsi découvrir en 2010 avec un retour aux sources après 13 ans, et, rencontrer Danny Vedua en Askal Hybrid Arnis aux Philippines. Un voyage qui a accentué mon savoir et mon expérience en Kali-Arnis-Eskrima avec, une vision, une méthodologie et un feeling qui aujourd’hui ont fait naître une alliance avec l’équipe d’Askal Hybrid Arnis où le Head Quarter se situe à Cagayan de Oro dans la région de Mindanao. Cette fabuleuse rencontre avec GM Danny Vedua me donne droit à enseigner et promouvoir en tant que représentant officiel et Full instructeur certifié en Askal Hybrid Arnis en France et Europe.
